What is this Indicator?
This indicator shows the percentage of students (grades 9-12) who dropped out of high school.
This indicator shows the adjusted, one-year high school drop out rate.
Why this is important: 
High school drop outs are more likely than people who finish high school to lack the basic skills required to function in an increasingly complicated job market and society. Adults with limited education levels are more likely to be unemployed, on government assistance, or involved in crime.
Technical Note:  The distribution is based on data from 58 California counties.

What is this Indicator?
This indicator shows the percentage of students (grades 9-12) who dropped out of high school.

Technical Note:  The trend is a comparison between the most recent and previous measurement periods. Confidence intervals were not taken into account in determining the direction of the trend.
