High School Drop Out Rate

Value: 2.0 percent
Measurement
Period:
2007-8
Location: County : Marin
Categories: Education / Educational Attainment in Adult Population

What is this Indicator?
This indicator compares the adjusted, one-year high school drop-out rate in California counties in the 2007-2008 academic year.

Why this is important: High school drop outs are more likely than people who finish high school to lack the basic skills required to function in an increasingly complicated job market and society. Adults with limited education levels are more likely to be unemployed, on government assistance, or involved in crime.

Technical note: The distribution is based on data from 56 California counties.
