| Description |
Project BOOST (Building Options and Opportunities for Students) is an educational after-school program that aims to help disadvantaged youth in elementary or middle school, who have demonstrated academic success but lack the opportunity to develop their abilities.
Students are enrolled until eighth grade. During their enrollment, students are exposed to various cultural and academic programs, including test preparation, tutoring, academic guidance, and volunteer opportunities. The program serves more than 700 students in 60 elementary and middle schools. |
| Goal / Mission |
The goal of the program is to provide students with opportunities that will help them gain admission to high-achieving high schools. |
| Results / Accomplishments |
In the first five years of operation, Project BOOST matriculated all of the program participants into high schools, including Bronx High School of Science, Brooklyn Technical High School, Beacon High School, CUNY High School for Engineering, LaGuardia High School of Music and Performing Arts, Manhattan Center for Math and Science, and more. Additionally, the program has a 0% dropout rate. |
