| Description |
The goal of the Adventure Diversion Program is to reduce the number of out-of-home placements for juveniles living in Carroll County, Maryland who have violated probation. Program staff aim to improve prosocial and conflict resolution skills through experiential learning and outdoor recreational activities.
During the week, the youths participate in team- and character- building exercises during which they are encouraged to develop new ways to respond to relationships, stressors, and responsibility. One Saturday a month, the youths participate in an outdoor wilderness activity that is designed to allow them to practice the skills that they have learned.
