| Description |
W.O.M.A.N., Inc. seeks to end abuse and assist battered women in regaining control of their lives. Based out of San Francisco, California, W.O.M.A.N., Inc. provides education, advocacy and counseling on a mutual support and self-help basis. At the Crisis Line, advocates provide crisis intervention, peer counseling, and emergency referrals 24 hours a day. Various support groups are offered for women who have suffered any form of abuse. Also, on-going individual and family therapy are available. Finally, W.O.M.A.N., Inc. conducts various community education programs in order to raise public awareness of domestic violence. All services are also provided in Spanish. |
