Ranking Good Idea
Description Founded in 2008, Aspiritech is a non-profit organization in the Chicago area that seeks to find employment for individuals with Asperger's syndrome and high-functioning autism. These individuals possess skills desired in the high tech business world such as attention to detail, technical aptitude, and the ability to excel in a highly-repetitive task environment, yet many have impairments in social or communication areas. For these reasons, Aspiritech has found that software development companies are a source of meaningful employment, providing "human-powered software testing".

Aspiritech testers provide compatibility, functional, and regression testing. Individuals who find employment with Aspiritech are rigorously trained, then matched for a position which best suits their specific skills and aptitudes. Employees are supported on an ongoing basis with managers, trainers, and volunteers.
Goal / Mission Aspiritech seeks to provide meaningful employment for individuals with Asperger's syndrome and high-functioning autism through placements at local software development companies.
Results / Accomplishments As of 2011, Aspiritech has over 10 employees and has worked with several software development clients in the Chicago area. They hope to expand to other geographic areas and other types of business.
